Harmony is the combination of different pitches and rhythms in a musical composition. Harmony is created when two or more distinct musical notes are played together. This creates chords, which can be used to create musical texture and emotion. Timbre is the quality of a sound that is determined by its overtones. It is the difference between a “bright” sounding note and a “dark” sounding note. Timbre can be used to create different musical textures and emotions in a piece of music. Form is the structure of a piece of music. It is the way in which the different elements of a piece of music are combined to create its overall structure. It can be used to create musical tension and resolution.
